I actually...Hi Kim, <BR/>Thanks for posting my oatmeal. I actually use 1/2t. salt and salted butter. I think 1/4t. is too bland but I lean toward more salt in my cooking. The recipe should probably read "salt to taste" I guess. Also, I forgot to tell you to keep the lid on the pot while it is simmering but I'm sure you figured that out. <BR/>Oatmeal is a great breakfast food but is so heavy on the carbs that I give my girls whole milk to drink with it to add more protein and fat and balance out the meal. I started making oatmeal on most mornings 4 years ago when the girls were babies. It is so healthy and so cheap. I tweaked it through the years because if it lacks flavor, they won't eat very much at all and I'm left with a big pot to throw out. I think frozen blueberries are my favorite because it gives just the right touch to the piping hot oatmeal.
